Back Story

Tbilisi 

Tbilisi, Georgia’s ancient and vibrant capital city spreads out along both banks of the Mtkvari River, and is surrounded on three sides by mountains. The name “Tbilisi” is derived from the Old Georgian word “tbili”, meaning warm.

In the past few years, Tbilisi has been undergoing something of a bohemian renaissance.

Founded in the middle of the 5th Century, Tbilisi is the national capital of the Republic of Georgia and since its foundation, the city has occupied a strategic position on the banks of the Mtkvari River. The river flows along a naturally occuring pass cut into the Caucasus Mountains that seperate the Black and Caspian seas where Europe and Asia converge.

Tbilisi is a major cultural and educational centre, and is also one of the region’s principle industrial centres. 

AnamariaGeorgia Tensegrity Tables are made in Tbilisi.
